CHETTINAD FESTIVAL @ SOUTH OF VINDHYAS, THE ORCHID MUMBAI
‘South of Vindhyas’, the unique culinary concept restaurant from South of India is hosting ‘Chettinad Festival’ from May 5th2017 to May 14th 2017. South of Vindhyas offers an authentic flavor of chettinad cuisine, the traditional fare of the Chettiar community of traders in Tamil Nadu. Restaurant will be decorated as Chettinad Region Home in the village with decoration such as rice rangoli at the entrance, framework of Chettinad region and toran of Banana leaves and Jhendu flowers around the main pillar.
Master Chef Bala and his team has specially prepared Ala Carte menu with full of Chettinad delicacies. Fill up your palate with elaborate spread of dishes from chettinad cuisine such as Rasam of the day, Karuveppillai Meen (curry leaves flavored grilled kingfish), Poricha Vavval (Pomfret marinate with homemade masala and fried), Eral Kozhambu (prawn cooked in tomato onion gravy, flavored with garlic), Nandu Fry (home-style crab curry), Kozhi Sambar (yoghurt based chicken with coconut and chillies).
Vegan can relish into Kuzhi Paniyaram (a chettinad delicacy of rice and lentil), Muttakose Kola (Cabbage Kofta), Kosu Mali (Chettinad style brinjal and potato mash), Vendakai Mandi (a classical dish from Tamilnadu of okra cooked in rice water) etc. As you enjoyed the spicy flavors of South sweeten your taste buds with Desserts such as Pal Paniyaram (rich & lentil fritter served in sweetened coconut milk), Semiyan Payasam, Godhumai Halwa (irresistible broken wheat cakes).
